Day 1 – Mon 27th March 2023 - 9:30 am to 5:00 pm

Short course: Introduction to Thermal Methods

The Course will provide a comprehensive overview of the latest developments and applications of the main thermal analysis and calorimetry techniques including: differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA),  evolved gas analysis (EGA),  thermomechanical (TMA) and dynamic thermomechanical analysis (DMA), dielectric measurements (DEA), calorimetry, industrial safety, and thermomicroscopy.

The day will also include several networking / refreshment breaks during which there will be plenty of opportunity for discussion with the course speakers, all of whom have wide experience in the application of thermal techniques to the characterisation of materials.

Day 2 & 3 – Tue 28th March 2023 - 9:30 am to 5:00 pm and

                       Wed 29th March 2023 - 9:30 to 2:00 pm

Scientific and Industrial Applications of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry

This popular meeting will feature presentations on applications of thermal analysis to a range of topics including; materials characterisation, autocatalytic decomposition, and thermal methods at the nanoscale.

There will also be short presentations from manufacturers of thermal instrumentation including (in alphabetical order) Gearing Scientific, Hiden Analytical, Hiden Isochema, Hitachi High-Tech Analytical Science, Linkam Scientific, Mettler-Toledo, Netzsch, Perkin Elmer (PETA), Scientific Medical, Thermap Solutions, and Waters TA.

Please note while the conference and short course are both free a separate cost of £40 will be associated with the conference dinner, held at the Manor House, Huddersfield.
