Listserver
The TMG runs an electronic discussion
group,tmg-inf list that focuses on two topics:
1. News and information relating to the UK's
Thermal Methods Group (TMG). Typical topics would include forthcoming
meetings, request for papers and topics for future meetings.
2. An interactive forum to promote,
discuss and explore the theoretical and practical aspects of thermal
methods of analysis.
Once you have joined the list, please
send a brief e-mail to tmg-inf list to introduce yourself, mentioning any
specific areas of interest (application and /or technique related) that you
have.
How to Subscribe
This service is free. Email tmg-inf-qjoin@list.rsc.org to
register with tmg-inf list.
How to Use
To send a message to all tmg-inf list members,
use a message with the following form (the email address is case
insensitive):
From: yourname@domain.co.uk
Subject: PROBLEM WITH LOADING PRODUCT
Can anybody help me unzip my file?
--------------------------------------------------------------
How to Unsubscribe
To stop receiving messages from tmg-inf
you will need to send a message to the list manager called
tmg-inf-leave@list.rsc.org
For example:
--------------------------------------------------------------
From: yourname@domain.co.uk
To: tmg-inf-leave@list.rsc.org
Subject: not needed
--------------------------------------------------------------
If you receive a message saying you are not
a member but you are still getting messages, you could be subscribed using
a different email address. Check for the "X-ListMember:" clause
in the header of the message.
It will have the form:
X-ListMember: [yourname@domain.co.uktmg-inf@list.rsc.org]
which means that this message was from
the list called tmg-inf@list.rsc.org and was sent to the email address "yourname@domain.co.uk". You can now leave the list by sending the
message:
--------------------------------------------------------------
From: yourname@domain.co.uk
To: tmg-inf-request@list.rsc.org
Subject: not needed
leave yourname@domain.co.uk
--------------------------------------------------------------
Access and use of the tmg-inf list is
free (thanks to the Royal Society of Chemistry). Everyone with an interest
in thermal methods is encouraged to join. There is no moderator of this
list. Any e-mail sent to the list will be copied to everyone else that has
subscribed to the list. As a consequence, there are a few rules
1. Be polite and professional. Remember
that everyone will see your e-mail, so no swearing, personal insults,
slander or general bad behaviour.
2. No nicknames or aliases. Please use
your full name and organisation as a sign-off on all e-mails.
3. No advertising of any product or
service unless in response to a specific question.
4. Please be descriptive with the
"Subject" field so that everyone can easily follow a particular
discussion.
Any breach of the above rules will result
in that person being permanently removed from the list.
