2012 Cyril Keattch Award Competition
The Cyril
Keattch Award Competition is held biennially. The Award is made to an outstanding early career
scientist working in the field of thermal analysis or calorimetry to enable
them to present a paper based on their work at an International Conference.
The 2012 Cyril Keattch
Award will be associated with the 15th
International Confederation for Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry Congress
to be held in Osaka, Japan, August 20th
-24th 2012.
Candidates for the
Award must be resident in the UK. Those wishing to apply should have normally
worked for ten years or less at the post-graduate level; any periods of
leave, (such as, but not limited to, maternity leave) should be documented.
Candidates should supply a nomination letter from a senior colleague, full
curriculum vitae, a list of their publications and conference presentations
and a one page abstract of the paper that the candidate intends to present
at the 15th ICTAC Congress.
The submissions
will be reviewed by a sub-committee of the TMG committee. The authors of the best three entries
will then be invited to give a 20 minute presentation (including questions)
at TAC 2012 to be held on the 3rd and 4th
of April 2012 in the Division of Food Sciences at the Sutton Bonington
Campus of Nottingham University. The
winner of the competition will be announced at the TAC 2012 conference dinner.
The submissions should
be submitted in electronic format to the TMG Secretary, Dr Catherine Barnes (catherine.x.barnes@gsk.com) by the 15th March 2012.
